Decoding The Interview With God . com
While building my www.AllInterviewsWithGod.com, I reference the original theinterviewwithgod.com website. I did a studying on why the site ranked #1 perpectually:
- It’s not mere flash site. The flash site is not on the first page. Instead, the first page ahve only 2 buttons: view the flash presentation and go to the main site. With this, Google or other search engine will be able to crawl the main page which is content rich and not overseeing the flash.
- In the main page, it’s full of magnetising clicks: such as “Bookmark me”, “Make me your home page” and “Tell a friend”
- The main page have a “subscribe me” which able to send newsletter to user.
- The main page have many testimony from people who wrote in to tell how good the site were.
- The site sell many other products, such as screensaver, calendar, poster…etc
- The site have the main poem dictated out.
Well, these look common and we learn from many SEO. However, what the ultimate secret is….click on the “view source’ and you will see the secret!
The page, if you notice, it is actually a frame with subform. You will notice that whereever you click, the URL remains at theinterviewwithgod.com without other .html
You will bound to see many articles “embedded within the main form which is transparent to users, but, readable by search engineer and robot!Â
The author skillfully, embedded such articles in the main form, and make the main form size very small (0 or 1) and without frame and scroll bar.Â
So to users, it looks like a normal 1 page site thank link to many html, but the fact is, it’s a 1 page frame site with many long God related articles embedded and calling many subforms1
Very smart and skillful!

It’s probably ranked no 1 because of offline optimisation from it’s viral nature. A lot of people have reference to his site with the keywords like ‘interview with god’ so when Google goes to other website and find that a lot of site seems to think that his website is the authority for ‘interview with god’ so naturally ranking is high.
Example of this is Adobe Acrobat download page. It is ranked number one for ‘Click here’ in google search although in the whole website, there’s no ‘click here’ whatsoever. But because a lot of other sites probably have in their websites say, ‘To get your free Adobe Acrobat - Click here’ and link ‘Click here’ to the website, google is going to think that Adobe’s website is authority for ‘Click Here’
So SEO is not only online but also offline through backlinks. (especially from authority sites)
