Finally, they replied. 

The helpdesk lady was on MC and that’s why she did not be able to send me an reply.  Well, she is been polite and pretty quick in her response after my 3rd email.

Not sure, if it is because of my email cc to Gary Lamb or she is sick, for the benefit of doubts, I believed her.  However, this bring out one potential issue:

• The helpdesk only have 1 person?

This is a huge risk in term of business:  Single Point of Failure!  That is, if she is not around, or not in good term, or in long leave, or sobataging or … the whole operation will be failed (For overseas customer).  Even though they can still accept payment, but, they may want customer to pay extra and to customer, if they do not agree, it become dead-lock and end up both parties finger-pointing to each other.

So, in term of business risk handling, her email should be able to be accessed by a few others, and, when she is not around, an acknowledgement or Out-Of-Office notice to be sent.  (I experienced that myself as seller in ebay…very very important to level set customer expectation)

Back to the detail, this is what she wrote:

“Thank you for your patience.  The cost to ship one CD and license agreement via AirMail is $13.25 USD; whereas the cost to ship 12 CDs along with the license agreement would be $21.10.  AirMail delivery, although not the fastest method, and not insurable or trackable, is the most economical.  Delivery would involve about 2-3 weeks for shipment.

If you would like a faster, more secure method, I would need your exact address to prepare a FedEx International Priority price quote.”

Her price to send a CD and a license (I believe it should be a A4 size small binded booklet) it’s USD13.25!  That is pretty high!  I think for CD, it cost less than USD3.00 to send from US to SGP, but additional USD10 for agreement and without registered…hmmm…..looks like they are charging extra and earn from the freighting.  (a common trick we normally used in ebay)

Anyway, I asked about registered mail extra cost.  Let’s wait for her to come back.
