The Bigger Why Question!

Friday, January 26th, 2007

One of my goals for this year is to be healthy. The action steps of having a good health is to exercise often. As such, I had persuaded my wife, CW, to do morning walk with me every day.

We started for a week and it went all well as the breeze walk in the morning indeed let me and my wife have clearer mind and work better in the day; in addition, it also help me and my wife to have a chance to be alone together and grow better relationship. It’s a stone killing two birds benefits.

Last night, i had a bad sleep and woke up several time in the middle of the night. As a result, when CW woke me up at 5:30am, I was so tired and reluctant to get out of my comfort bed. Those i was lying there for a while, my mind started to tick. I began to debate with myself. On one hand, I was cursing the stupid idea of waking up in the early morning to exercise as there are other easier way to have a good health. On the other hand, I was really wanted to wake up and trying to find reasons to justify WHY i should wake up. (more…)

Successful 2007

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

To be able to have a successful 2007, we need to set goal.

Bear in mind that the successful 3% have:

  • Written Goals,
  • They review them,
  • They know what they are
  • They act Upon Them.

The following Video will show give you a better understanding:

Goals resetting

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

It’s my 38th birthday yesterday!  Happy birthday to me!  However, I’m not very happy as my short term was not achieved and overrun!

What should I do?  I cannot continue to write down my daily goals and continue to set a Past-date as due date.  I have to re-tune and  r- look into this process and do a postmortem where did I do wrong.

Firstly, I re-look into the whole process:

  1. Setting an achievable goal
  2. Setting an achievable date
  3. Setting a goal which I really wanted (more…)

Best time for goal setting

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

In my last post, I mentioned that we should set goal clearly and daily.

Now, the question is, when is the BEST TIME?

Of course, it’s in the morning.  Not just in the morning, it should be FIRST Thing in the morning!

Yes, that’s what I mean!  The first thing when you wake up, instead of brushing your teeth, you should start writing your goal!  Your daily goal!

Visualization

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Visualization is a very important step in goal setting.

I have a blue convertible beatle photo on my desk.  On it, I edited my own photo and carefully placed it in the driver seat.  I had shown it to John and he was amazed that it look real as if I’m driving it.  As such, when I’m in office, i can see the picture and see myself driving the beatle.

On Saturday, after Novena, we went to Serangoon for lunch.  While driving out, we saw a private property open house.  As such, we stopped and went in to take a look.

It’s a 4 stories semi-detach.  When entering the main gate, it’s a car pouch which can take in 1 car.  (Hmm….if I want to have 2 cars, then, I need to park one outside.  Then walk up a flight of steps to enter the main door, which is the main hall.  about the size of our current master room.  There is another flight of steps that divided the dining hall and the living room.  and the kitchen is an open concept and look bright.  Through the kitchen’s window, we can see the neighbour which is behind the house clearly.

How to set Goals

Saturday, September 9th, 2006

We need to have Long term goals and short term goals.

Long term goals:

  • Be bold!
  • Just write down anything outragous!
  • It’s ok, it’s GOAL anyway, right?

Remember, no invention begins without a BOLD Dream!  We will not have computer, if someone dream of having a machine think as fast as us.  We will not have car if on one ever though of having a machine to drive us around, we will probably still on horses.

Also, write down not one or ten…but, challenge and push yourself to write down 100 goals!  Trust me!  it’s not easy, but it is worth it!  To date, i just managed to write 50 of them.  Will complete it and rewritten it again every year!  It’s interesting to see and review yearly goals and notice the priority and importancy changed accordingly due to many factors.

Setting Goals [by|from|on]…

Saturday, September 9th, 2006

It’s my 9th day I’m writing my daily goal.

As each day passes, my daily goals is more or less identified.  I started with 11 of them, and on 3rd day, it streamed down to 10 and now, the priority, sequent, words used, sentense are more or less consistent.

What my problem now is the choice of word “by” or “from” or “on”.  As I’m writing, “I will have XXXX [by|from|on] dd/mm/yyyy.”  So, I need to be clear on what I really want.
